The Importance of Lamella Clarifiers:
A lamella clarifier is a highly efficient sediment tank which removes suspended solids from silt-laden water from surface run-off and groundwater. Utilising a series of inclined lamella plates to optimise the settlement-rate of the particles.
Process Overview:
The Lamella Clarifier units cover a range of applications within the construction, mining, municipal and industrial sectors. Units can be used either as a stand-alone solution or as a part of a larger water treatment package from PR Water.
PR Water’s clarifiers have a settlement area which is proportionally larger when compared to their footprint. This is possible by utilising the surface area of the inclined lamella plates which are strategically positioned to increase the effective settlement area of the unit.
All our clarifiers are modular in design which means they can be linked in parallel to achieve higher flow rates to cater for a range of flow rates. The settling process is passive and requires no power supply or moving parts to operate. Dirty water enters through the inlet, flowing through the unit to the outlet with the sediment settling to the bottom of the unit. The sediment contained within the sludge hopper compresses, to be disposed of as a semi-solid waste. The silt-free water makes its way through the outlet manifold and can be safely discharged.
